What do your skills around a coffee catch up with a colleague, networking or hosting your clients over a meal say about you?
The Sales and Marketing team from Informatica recently discovered the advantage of knowing more about modern dining etiquette and protocols during a Dine Like a Diplomat Master Class.
Throughout the three course dining experience set in the beautiful, Sofitel Sydney Wentworth Garden Court restaurant the team were keen to learn the art of dining in a modern context. From entering the room to navigating the table setting, experimenting with eating various foods and juggling the cutlery, the team embraced the art of hosting and business entertaining.
Team members preparing and delivering a toast to the host and discussing global dining trends, with a focus on Asia/Pacific region highlighted the advantage that etiquette and protocol skills have in building business relationships.
Many a business deal is brokered in social situations and particularly over the dining table. Being polished and confident removes those awkward moments, faux pas and distracting mannerisms.
Don't under estimate the advantage you can have in business by fine-tuning your skills and personal style to deliver a professional and credible lasting impression.
